LONG Description
It takes courage and grace to parent in a way that is true to our authentic selves. With a non-judgmental, reflective presence, I create a safe space to support and bear witness to my clients' pregnancy and parenting journeys. I help parents to maximize their attuned, compassionate care, to bring out the best in their children. I specialize in preventing and treating postpartum depression and fostering early childhood mental health, because I am awed by the pure potentiality found in every infant and toddler, and the extraordinary opportunities for healing found in the transition to parenthood. I offer dyadic therapy for young children and their parents. I especially enjoy working with pre-verbal infants and their families, to foster attachment and maximize resiliency, and to heal attachment disruptions and other toxic stress in infancy. I offer mindfulness-based psychotherapy for adults and a mindful parenting approach attuned to the unique needs of each child and family. I support families in breaking the binds of inter-generational trauma, and in strengthening primary relationships so that their children may thrive. As a graduate of the Napa Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship, my work is informed by my understanding of the developing brain. I harness the similarities within the brain between mindfulness and healthy attachment, to support parents their own healing while intervening early in any concerns about their children.
