SHORT Description
Mind/Body based therapy for helping professionals and caregivers and trauma recovery
LONG Description
The body has remarkable innate healing capacity. If you’ve tried every thing you can THINK of without enough benefit or relief, it’s time to go beyond the thinking mind to access healing. Get out of your head and feel into your body, using powerful mind/body practices to release stress and tension and make space for new awareness, creativity, and deeper inner connection and integration.

It is my particular goal to help the helpers. As therapists or in other helping professions or life roles, so much stress and tension can accumulate as we walk with others in their pain, unmet needs and traumas. In addition,as therapists, we have a particular mandate to open to our own personal deep pain in order maintain our vibrancy and aliveness with others. This can leave us feeling achy, tense, stuck, exhausted or disconnected from joy in life.

I work with individuals and groups using several body/mind practices for release and renewal, including Yin/Restorative Yoga, Jin Shin Jyutsu (energy healing), TRE (trauma release exercises- traumaprevention.com), DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy skills) and iRest Yoga Nidra.

Because these modalities access intrinsic body healing mechanisms, preverbal and unconscious material can be accessed and released. These are practices that work well together for many conditions: compassion fatigue, trauma recovery, pain management, fibromyalgia, insomnia, and other mind/body conditions such as digestive disorders, social anxiety, and feelings of exhaustion or disconnect.

I provide body based individual psychotherapy for adults and adolescents. I hold some sliding scale low fee slots open for interns and other helping professionals in need. I also offer affordable groups/classes (TRE, Yin Yoga, DBT skills and iRest Yoga Nidra) as well as private sessions that can be used as an adjunct to individual therapy with the goal of increasing body connection and awareness and to support health/vitality recovery. Periodically I offer half day and full day retreats for helping professionals for deep somatic release and renewal; please email me to be on my mailing list.
