LONG Description
I'm a mindfulness-based, trauma-informed, somatic therapist and ecotherapist. I primarily work with 2e and neurodivergent people. Currently offering teletherapy, limited outdoor therapy slots available upon request.
Healing trauma is one of my main areas of focus. I also enjoy working with existential and spiritual issues, codependency/developing healthy boundaries, gifted teens and adults.
I take a client-centered approach and integrate useful components of other modalities such as DBT and art therapy as needed. I have 5+ years of gestalt training and draw heavily from Janina Fischer's work on healing trauma.
10+ years of formal meditation practice and Buddhist study in both zen and vipassana traditions inform my work.
In my work, I take a holistic approach and pay special attention to a client's context and various factors that might play a role in their present symptoms. I am not a medical-model oriented therapist. I am a compassion-oriented therapist.
I also have extensive wilderness experience, am a certified Wilderness First Responder, and have spent over 10 years working in a mentor role with wilderness-based youth development programs and mindful gardening programs for adults.
I love to draw on the healing power of the natural world if my clients are so inclined. I currently guide contemplative backpacking trips and offer immersive day or half-day ecotherapy sessions.
