Group 101: The Basics with Lois Friedlander, LMFT

  • 03/04/2016
  • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Odd Fellows Hall, 545 Pacific Ave., Santa Rosa

Presented by Lois Friedlander, LMFT

Have you ever been asked to facilitate a therapeutic group?  Does the idea seem daunting, scary? Do you worry about your lack of experience? Well, we have more experience than we might think, because we all participate in groups. Everyday, at work, with family, our significant partners, when interacting with members of our community, our spiritual affiliations, and social lives...all groups!

In this month’s workshop, we will explore the many facets of group therapy, the different types of groups we can offer our clients, the role careful selection plays in beginning a group, the importance of a group contract, how to manage countertransference reactions, and how to end the group well.

10:30 - 11:00 Social networking and registration
