Course Description
Melle's presentation focuses on LGBTQIA+ folx, specifically trans/gender diverse individuals and their experiences of marginalization. Intersectionality is included in the presentation, discussing the ways in which intersecting identities and unique experiences of marginalization is experiences by individuals within the trans/gender expansive communities. Didactic, discussion and experiential experiences address diversity issues.

About Melle Browning, LMFT
Melle (Mel) Browning is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT#115804) and earned his Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University of California. Mel has a private practice providing psychotherapy and consultation for a range of issues with a focus on trauma and LGBTQIA+ mental health. Mel has a history of providing crisis response, intensive outpatient and wraparound care in multiple settings and has experience training hundreds of volunteers, mental health and medical professionals, and student leaders on issues such as trauma informed crisis response, affirming LGBTQIA+ care and working with gender diverse individuals. Mel is a queer gender non-conforming trans man and has a passion for social justice and trauma informed work, believing both are key to forming and maintaining healthy communities that thrive.

CE Certificate: You must attend the entire presentation, and complete a post test and an evaluation to receive your CE credit certificate. Within one business day after the conclusion of this educational event, after RECAMFT confirms attendance, an email with a link to the test and evaluation form will be sent to all attendees who attended the online event in full. Once you complete and submit your evaluation, you will have immediate access and be able to print or save your CE Certificate. This course meets the qualifications for 2.0 hrs of continuing education (CE) credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
